After the crazy highs of yesterday, we now have to get back to the walking in faith part of the adoption process. We received a call this morning from our caseworker, who was very nice, thorough and helpful. He was also very clear that we have a lot left to do and that D and K are still anyone's kids, basically. After the home study, we will be evaluated as to whether we are a suitable match. Then the Russian government has to agree, too.
Of course we already knew all of this, and we have given the process to God, but this is where we put faith into practice. We hung up the phone feeling like the pre-approval means nothing really, and we're starting all over. That's okay....just a reality check.
I had planned to take the application to the home study folks today, but our caseworker wants to talk to them first to determine whether they will be approved to do the home study. He is going to get back to us today or tomorrow, so we'll wait until then to take the application in.
