This and That

It's a busy week for us with Garin's party Saturday night. I'm headed to the grocery store this afternoon to stock up, and I have to run the board reports by the printer for the board meeting on Thursday.

Yesterday, I finally got my new bowling ball! I'm not sure the holes are just right yet. He drilled them and did some fine-tuning after I bowled a few frames, but I think the middle finger may still be tight. It seemed to be sticking a little, but I'm going to try again Wednesday. He can tweak it if need be.

Garin has new tooth number eight. It came in yesterday, finally. That should help his demeanor (and slobbering)!

Matt is just doing great these days. He's enjoying school (as much as a kid does) and has a hopping social life. He met friends at the coffee house Saturday. That seems to be a new ritual with Freeburg kids now that they finally have a place to gather. Friday night, he is going with the youth group to the Stellar Kart concert in St. Charles. Wish I could go!!! Next weekend is the big Dare to Share event in St. Louis for the youth, and I'm so glad he's going. I want him to discover the joy of being bold in Christ, and these are just the sort of things to point him in the right direction.

I got a grade on another paper finally. This time it was in my music class, but it was a 100 again! She said it was beautifully written and elegantly expressed! I hope I don't seem like I'm bragging, but I'm so excited, and it's still hard to believe.

Karl's had a rough week at work. He is too hard on himself, and when things don't go just right, he beats himself up. He is still learning his office job and needs guidance from time to time. I was up from 2:30-4:00 this morning, praying for him and for his boss because they were meeting this morning. He got some good, constructive criticism, given with compassion and concern and was relieved. Of course, he's a little stressed, but it helped him so much to know that his new boss seems to have his heart in the right place, so to speak. It will all work out just fine. I only wish he had the confidence to match his ability. He has taken Thursday through Tuesday off for party prep and family time. I think he really needs it, and I know I'm looking forward to it.
