Garin decided this evening that he can step right off the couch. The amazing thing about it is that he actually can! I had to put the brakes on his standing on the arm of the couch, though. He seemed to think that was perfectly safe too.
(The black blob of fur on the back of the couch is Matt's old Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde wig from several Halloweens ago. Seems Garin has found yet another Halloween costume he loves to play with.)
