Justice....Peace

Had a great time yesterday with Kim and Shelbie! We went shopping at the mall and then to Lone Star Steakhouse for dinner. I got all of our Christmas decorations put back in the attic last night, except for the exterior lights, which will probably have to wait until Karl gets home. Today I have to take Mr. Magoo to the vet, and I plan to clean house....seems like I'm always cleaning house!

My spirit is unsettled this morning. All the news reports indicate that Saddam Hussein's execution is imminent and that it will create increased violence against Americans. There is certainly justification for and justice in his death, but there is no joy from it. Even he, consumed by cruelty and evil, is a person created by and loved by God, and God Himself will weep when Saddam passes into an eternity apart from Him. I fear for the safety of our men and women over there. My husband is on a mission right now that will take him back into hostile areas over the weekend, and I just want to hear his voice again, saying that he has safely landed back in Europe and will soon be home. My cousin (actually my mom's cousin's son), Eric, is over there on the ground, too. I guess we all know someone in harm's way. I pray that God will surround each of them with his angels and a hedge of protection will be placed around them. I pray that the predictions prove false and that the people of Iraq will finally begin to heal. I pray that those who continue to create violence will be quieted. I pray for peace.
