Wow, we're busy this week! I'm so thankful that we are able to be back on the move with the adoption, even as I dread the tiredness that will accompany it!
First, let me say that your prayers are helping. I have seen a real difference in our caseworker Friday and today. She is calling and emailing with information and is really on top of things today with regard to getting our documents ready and sent to Russia. She confessed to me today that she is an overly cautious person and doesn't move until she is sure all of her bases are covered. It seems that her greatest fear is something going wrong with an adoption because she wasn't thorough enough and missed something. That's not a bad quality to have in a caseworker, certainly, and it explains - at least to some extent - the delays we've experienced.
This week is going to be crazy! Karl is flying two locals this week, and he is also overloaded in the office right now. He got a ton dropped on his desk today and just called at 5:00 to say that he has no idea when he'll be home tonight. I have three obligations tomorrow and two on Wednesday, so both days are almost completely full from morning to night. Somewhere in there, we have to get documents notarized and apostilled in Delaware. Thursday has now been cleared and set aside to drive to Philly to pick up documents from our home study agency and then take them to Harrisburg to be apostilled. Then I have to overnight everything to our agency, so that they can review them on Friday before sending them on to Russia on Friday afternoon. But, praise God and assuming everything goes as planned, they will have them in plenty of time to translate and certify them and can register our dossier on April 28th!
Karl's stepmother had a birthday last week, and my niece has one this week, and once again I'm behind on sending gifts out. I need an administrative assistant!
Thanks again for your prayers! Don't stop!
We were excited yesterday that two other couples from our squadron visited our church! Because it is almost 45 minutes from the base, we don't see military families there often. One of the guys is the other pilot from the Sicily pictures. The other is a guy who works in the mobility office with Karl. Their wives are both active duty Air Force also. It was just fun to have them there. Karl talked to them this morning, and they said they really enjoyed it and would definitely keep coming. They had been struggling to find a church in Dover and were happy to find Connection.
