Long Day

After 9 hours on the road and a couple of minor blips with the paperwork, everything is apostilled and on its way to the agency. They'll send it on to Russia tomorrow afternoon! WHEW! We're celebrating tomorrow night by getting a sitter for Garin and going to an excellent and expensive Russian restaurant, Red Square, at Rehoboth Beach with our good friends, the Soules. It's the kind of place that parents of young children seldom go: coat and tie dress code, caviar, romance, etc. They supposedly have like 150 different kinds of Russian vodka. Big whoop - I don't like vodka. I am really excited about friends, caviar and Russian food, though!!!

Karl is scheduled for a great mission soon, too, so he's looking forward to that. Next week is crammed with OSC meetings (constitution & by-laws committee, welfare committee, meeting with ESC board), but the board year is almost over, and there's a lot to do to get ready to hand everything over to the new board.

My dad had surgery on his hand today, and he's doing well. He had a ganglion cyst at the base of his left middle finger, in exactly the same spot that I had one five years ago. Very strange. Thankfully, it's a pretty easy if rather painful fix!

In case I don't have a chance to write tomorrow, I will wish you all a fabulous weekend with beautiful weather and lots of free time in which to enjoy it!

HOW DO YOU RECONCILE "RATHER PAINFUL FIX' WITH THE BEFORE-SURGERY ASSESSMENT I RECEIVED???

BE SURE TO HAVE SOME BORST FOR ME AT THE RESTRAUNT.

"Rather painful fix" is a relative term....What I meant was that is was painful compared to floating on the clouds, which must be what you're doing now, thanks to the Darvocet!! ;o)

Seriously, though, compared to jaw surgery, it was not bad. I promise it will feel much better in a couple of days!

Love you!!!
